What we offer:
In our laboratory, we can test processes on a small-scale before moving on to our pilot plant. This also enables us to perform analyses during processing, closely monitoring the process.
Our 450 m² food-grade pilot plant provides the space and flexibility to test, compare, and optimize full processing lines under realistic conditions. This is where we bridge the gap between laboratory work and industrial production: exploring different process routes and evaluating different technologies and results.
Our 400 m² food-grade production facility allows us to manufacture finished ingredients under FSSC 22000 certification. Once a process has been developed and optimized in our pilot plant, we can seamlessly transition it into full production using industrial equipment and controlled process conditions.

Yes. Bodec can support outsourced temporary production for food ingredients and bioprocess-based products, especially for first commercial production and initial market batches.
Before production starts, we first assess whether the process, product and required quality standards fit our equipment, facility and available capacity. In many cases, a pilot test or process validation is needed before moving to production.
When the process is suitable, Bodec can help customers produce their first commercial volumes without immediately investing in their own production facility.
No. In many cases, customers do not need their own food production equipment to work with Bodec.
Bodec’s production facility gives access to food-grade equipment for processing, scaling and first commercial production of food ingredients and bioprocess-based products.
If specific equipment is required that we do not have in-house, we can often work with our machine building partners to rent, test or integrate additional equipment for the project.
At Bodec, we first use pilot testing to validate product quality, process settings, yield, cleaning requirements and practical feasibility. Based on these results, we assess whether the process fits our production equipment, quality standards and available capacity.
When the process is suitable, customers can move towards first commercial production or initial market batches in Bodec’s production facility.
Bodec works in a food-grade production environment and operates according to relevant food safety and quality standards.
Our production facility is FSSC 22000 certified. In addition, Bodec can work with Halal, organic and Kosher certified production, depending on the product, process and customer requirements.
Food safety, traceability, hygiene, cleaning and controlled production are important parts of every production project. Depending on the project, we can also work with additional customer-specific quality requirements.
Yes. Bodec can produce commercial volumes of food ingredients and bioprocess-based products, especially first commercial batches or initial market volumes.
However, Bodec is a CDMO rather than a standard CMO or tolling company. This means we do not simply take over a fixed production process and run large-volume manufacturing as-is. We combine process development, pilot testing, scale-up and production support.
Before commercial production starts, we assess whether the process fits our equipment, quality standards and available capacity. Where needed, we first validate or optimize the process to make sure it can be produced safely, consistently and efficiently.
