Bodec joins Balanced Protein Future to strengthen collaboration with the French food industry

Bodec has joined Balanced Protein Future, a multi-year Partners for International Business (PIB) programme connecting Dutch expertise in sustainable protein solutions with the French food industry. Following the signing of the covenant at the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO), the partners came together for the programme’s official launch at SIAL Paris on Monday, 19 October 2026.

Signing at RVO

The programme brings together Dutch businesses, knowledge partners and government organisations to develop opportunities in the French market. It connects expertise in ingredients and food processing with French manufacturers, with a focus on developing tasty, scalable and commercially viable food products. This includes hybrid products that combine plant-based and animal proteins.

For Bodec, the collaboration is closely aligned with our expertise in process development and scale-up. Turning a promising ingredient into a successful product requires a reliable production process. Maintaining quality and functionality while moving from laboratory trials to pilot-scale and first commercial production is a key part of that challenge.

Through our process expertise and pilot facilities, we help companies bridge these stages, optimise processing conditions and prepare innovations for production. Within Balanced Protein Future, we look forward to contributing this practical knowledge and exploring new collaborations with French partners.

Bodec also holds accreditation under France’s Crédit d’Impôt Recherche (CIR) scheme. This means that eligible French clients may be able to include qualifying R&D expenditure incurred with Bodec in their CIR tax credit calculation, subject to the applicable conditions. This can make working with Bodec on research and development projects financially attractive for French companies.

By bringing together business, research and government, Balanced Protein Future creates opportunities to translate protein innovation into practical applications for the French market.

We thank RVO, the Embassy of the Netherlands in France and all participating partners for this joint start. We look forward to building new partnerships and taking the next steps together.
